Basic project information
Central registration of museum collections (CEMUZ) is a program of the Ministry of the Culture SR, whose objective is to build a uniform knowledge-based system of Slovak museums. It is primarily carried out by the Slovak National Museum’s department titled: CEMUZ.Its mission is to:
- develop and administer technological tools of museum knowledge-based system: a. ESEZ 4G – museum catalogue module b. Thesaurus – controlled monolingual dictionaries (classifications and descriptive notions, preferred titles, personal, corporate and geographical authorities) c. CEMUZ – general catalogue of Slovak collections d. CEMUZ portal – integration module for control of tools, processes and client support
- methodological support of knowledge-based museum system formation, especially in areas like: a. specialized collection processing; b. document digitalization; c. digital visualization of collections; and d. automation of collection administration.
- administration of information system on museum collections a. knowledge systemization; b. controlled access to information; and c. data protection and archiving.
